LYDIA. Thyateira. Pseudo-autonomous issue. Assarion (Bronze, 20 mm, 5.14 g, 6 h), late 1st-early 2nd century AD. Bust of Athena to right, wearing crested Corinthian helmet and aegis. Rev. ΘΥΑΤЄΙΡΗΝΩΝ Hermes standing front, head to left, holding purse in his right hand and kerykeion in his left. RPC III 1838C. A beautiful piece of exceptionally fine style. Minor weakness and with some adjustment marks as made, otherwise, about extremely fine.

From the collection of Dr. P. Vogl, privately acquired from Aufhäuser in the 1980s or 1990s, inv. no. 454177 (with dealer's and collector's ticket).
